Roofline Christmas light installation
The roofline is the backbone of almost every display we install across Chapel Hill, Durham, Apex and the Triangle. Peaks, gables, gutter lines and ridgelines outlined in warm white — fitted to your house, not approximated from a box of store-bought strands.
We run commercial-grade C9 LED bulbs at 12-inch spacing. Most installers in the area use smaller C7 bulbs at 15-inch spacing; the larger bulb and tighter spacing is what gives a roofline that dense, even line of light you notice from the street. Every strand is measured and cut to the exact length of each run, so there are no doubled-up sections, no sagging excess and no dark gaps at the corners.

How it works
Design
You send the form or call, and we come out to measure the roofline and talk through the look — warm white, classic clear, or soft vintage-style bulbs. You get one written quote that covers the whole season.
Build
Back at the shop, strands are cut to the measured lengths and each run is labeled. Nothing gets figured out on a ladder in your driveway — the display arrives ready to hang.
Install
The crew clips each run to the gutter line or shingle edge, routes cords down the downspouts, sets the timer and walks the display with you before leaving. Two-story and steep-pitch roofs are normal work for us — the crew spends the rest of the year on Triangle rooftops with Carolina Sky Softwash.
Maintain, then store
If anything goes out in December, text us and we fix it. In January we take everything down on a set schedule, box and label it, and store it until you rebook.

We don't publish prices because no two rooflines are the same job. The honest answer is that cost follows linear feet and difficulty: a single-story ranch with a straight gutter line is a smaller job than a two-story with three gables, a dormer and a steep back pitch.
What moves a quote up: total footage, peaks and gables versus a straight run, roof pitch and height, and how cord routing has to work around porches and additions. What moves it down: simple geometry, easy access, and a design that concentrates on the front elevation. The written quote you get covers everything — design, lights, install, maintenance, takedown and storage — so there is no second invoice in January.
